1. What iHospo is
iHospo ("we", "us") is a verified two-sided marketplace + paymaster operated from Melbourne, Australia. We connect hospitality venues ("cafés") with independent contractor workers ("workers") for casual shifts, and act as paymaster for the wage paid for each matched shift.
We are not the legal employer. Workers operate as independent contractors under their own ABN or under the ATO Statement by Supplier (NAT 3346). Each shift is engaged directly between the worker and the café via the platform.
2. How payment works
When a worker is locked in to a shift, we charge the café's card on file for the wage + the iHospo platform fee + the NPP transfer cost. The wage portion is held in our trust account. On timesheet approval, we release the wage to the worker via NPP PayID. We retain the platform fee and pass through the NPP cost.
The café authorises iHospo to act as paymaster on the café's behalf for the limited purpose of distributing the wage. iHospo does not become the employer.
3. Worker obligations
Workers are responsible for their own super contributions, PAYG tax, and any workers compensation cover required for their personal circumstances. Workers should consult the ATO for current contractor obligations.
4. Award rate floor
iHospo enforces the Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119) Level 2 casual rate as the minimum hourly rate that may be posted on the platform. Cafés may post above this floor; they may not post below it. Weekend, late-night and public-holiday loadings are added on top per the award.
5. Cancellation & disputes
If a confirmed shift is cancelled by the café within the notice window, the worker is paid a minimum 3-hour engagement fee. If a shift is disputed by either side, the wage stays in trust pending review by an iHospo team member within 1 business day.
6. Suspension and removal
We reserve the right to suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms, the award rate floor, or our trust & safety policies. Substantiated bad-faith conduct (one-strike) will result in removal.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law), iHospo's liability to either party is limited to the platform fees paid by the café in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for losses arising from a third party's acts or omissions on the platform.
8. Changes
We'll publish material changes to these terms here with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
